RHIANNON MCBRIDE AND THE DRAGON’S CUP
One lonely girl. A magical world. A rising evil.
Rhiannon McBride’s life is one of utter misery. She’s bullied by her famous foster sister and has not a single friend. But a magical portal suddenly whisking her away to the world of Álnair changes everything.
In this wondrous new land filled with magic and dragons, Rhiannon finds a true home, and the friendship of the talented young mage David begins to heal her wounded heart.
But even within the beauty of Álnair there lurk hidden dangers: a vicious killer being chief among them! Will Rhiannon be safe from all these threats, or will one mistake leave her in a desperate fight for survival?
Full of loveable characters and exciting situations, Rhiannon McBride and the Dragon’s Cup follows the adventures of Rhiannon and her friend David in an amazing world of magic and danger.

I love Rhiannon's story. It reminds me and is very comparable to Harry Potter in ways such as her family status, her bloodline, finding a world where she truly belongs and where a competition is forced upon her that she never actually entered (I'm looking to you, tri wizard tournament).
It is beautifully written and I love the very very slow burn romance building between Rhiannon and David. I also love how creepy the villains sound when they don't have names attached to them in the first half of the book- it adds to their air of mystery and evilness while they plot.
If you are lucky enough to have the beautiful illustrated version like I am you will see how incredible the art work for this book is! It really adds to the overall magical feel to the story and I adore it!
Another thing I LOVED about the book is that friendship is the main focus throughout the book with Rhiannon, David and John being the most inseparable trio who are always helping each other as well as always getting into trouble!
If you're looking for a book that has that similar magical feeling Harry Potter gave us and has the following tropes, look no further :
-->Very Slow Burn Romance
-->Deceased Parents/Foster Family
I'm so thankful to Sarah for sending me this incredible book to read via kindle and also being so kind as to send me a signed hard copy too!
Cannot wait for book 2!
Rhiannon McBride and The Dragon’s Cup: reviewOn an ordinary day, extraordinary things can happen. Adopted Rhiannon McBride is, at first glance, an ordinary 13-year-old that many young teenagers will easily relate to. Yet Rhiannon is anything but ordinary: injuries that instantly heal, her ability to communicate with wild creatures ... When Rhiannon is literally blown away into another realm, we follow her on a series of miraculous and fantastical adventures. Readers will be kept on the edge of their seats as Rhiannon meets new friends – and foes –and experiences the ride of her life racing a dragon in a prestigious contest. A lovely story that feels true-to-life while taking place in a magical realm, and with the positive message that we are all unique and special in different ways.
