This beautiful story, which is filled with found family and friendship, with a fierce female main character who grows to accept and love herself for who she is and realise her full potential, captured me from the first chapter.

I love Rhiannon’s story. It reminds me and is very comparable to Harry Potter in ways such as her family status, her bloodline, finding a world where she truly belongs and where a competition is forced upon her that she never actually entered (I’m looking to you, tri wizard tournament).

It is beautifully written and I love the very very slow burn romance building between Rhiannon and David. I also love how creepy the villains sound when they don’t have names attached to them in the first half of the book- it adds to their air of mystery and evilness while they plot.

If you are lucky enough to have the beautiful illustrated version like I am you will see how incredible the art work for this book is! It really adds to the overall magical feel to the story and I adore it!

Another thing I LOVED about the book is that friendship is the main focus throughout the book with Rhiannon, David and John being the most inseparable trio who are always helping each other as well as always getting into trouble!

If you’re looking for a book that has that similar magical feeling Harry Potter gave us and has the following tropes, look no further :

–>Found Family

–>Very Slow Burn Romance

–>Magic

–>Dragons

–>Competition

–>Royalty

–>Prophecy

–>Training Sequence

–>Deceased Parents/Foster Family

–>School/Academic Setting

I’m so thankful to Sarah for sending me this incredible book to read via kindle and also being so kind as to send me a signed hard copy too!

Cannot wait for book 2!
